The short answer

On a typical iPECS setup, an unanswered transferred call goes to the colleague’s voicemail. Returning it to reception or sending it to a team is a programming change. Tell us the call path you want, and we check the system and network together.

What happens when a transferred call isn't answered

On a typical iPECS setup, a call reception transfers to a colleague who doesn't answer goes to that colleague's voicemail. If you'd rather it came back to reception, or went to a team, that's a programming change. Tell us how you want it to work and we'll set it up.

Who makes the changes

iPECS settings aren't designed for front-office staff to change, so we make routing and transfer changes for you, usually remotely. Send us who should receive which calls, and what should happen when they don't answer.

Calls dropping out or one-way audio

These are the problems iPECS customers most often call us about. They usually come from the office network or router rather than the phone system itself. The usual causes are a router feature called SIP ALG, or firewall settings that interrupt voice traffic. We check the phone system and the network together, and work with your IT provider on any router changes.

Is iPECS still a good system to keep?

Ericsson-LG's focus has moved towards unified communications. A working iPECS system can still serve a business well; we'll tell you plainly about parts and support for your model, and when moving to SIP or a cloud system makes more sense.
